Have you been waiting for Luna of Cairo to come to your city to teach? Well now you can take classes with her at online Cairobellydance.com !
We are excited to have Luna teach this short belly dance series of four classes with a weekly homework assignment. This improv series is a bit like learning to choreograph and improv at the same time. You will get a new video delivered to your inbox every week starting January 4, 2015, for four weeks.
Luna has been living and working in Egypt for 7 years, and she has been dancing daily on the Nile Memphis Boat. She is a teacher at Ahlan wa Sahlan and speaks Arabic fluently. In these classes she will break down word for word the meanings of the songs, and will be covering ways in which you can engage your short term memory to dance and make it seem that you are a pro dancer and knew exactly what you were going to do while doing improv dancing.
The music she will be working with has very emotional maawal’s. To name a few “Enta Omri” and “Sawah” and others. How do you dance with emotion? Luna will teach you all the Egyptian secrets of dancing with emotion and the movements associated with tarab songs. Tarab is a word that gets thrown around a lot but it’s not a dance. It’s YOU, reaching moments of passion and ecstasy in your dance. She will also explain to you how, and where, she would ask her musicians to add accents to make the music more entertaining for live music shows.
In addition to the four online class series, she will also give one written assignment a week that will take 10-30 minutes to complete. This is a work at your own pace class and you will be able to access the streaming classes for one year. Yes thats 365 days, so you will have plenty of time to study and re-study the classes. If you would like a low resolution version because you have slow internet please let us know when you place your order and we will upload a lower resolution version.
We are excited to present this 4 class series to you and hope you enjoy Luna’s classes in the New Year. What better way to start the New Year than with a new teacher and perspective on your belly dance? What are you waiting for? Sign up now!
