Man Boat dance is an Egyptian folkloric dance which came from Alexandria. It’s also referred to as Eskandrani or Alexandrian dance as well. This dance is performed by both men and women and is not belly dance style in nature. The moves derived from the people working on the docks of Alexandria, so there are lots of hand gestures that mimick how the people worked on the shores as the ships came in to deliver their goods. A great , well rounded dancer, should always learn about the folkloric as well as the oriental styles of Egyptian dance. Enjoy the class its great fun!
